Well, not valueless if it was an obsolete calibre, but in that condition not much. By default the Police are likely to want it ‘off the streets’ anyway, and the person handing it in needs to be careful but straightforward. Personally, if in doubt, I would have gone to an RFD for calibre confirmation first. Each to their own. It’s now been well highlighted on this forum.
