    Exclamation Pistol scope eye relief

    Hi
I have been looking for information about pistol scopes and in particular the eye relief you get with them. One I have found states the eye relief is 10” is this typical for pistol scopes?

    Steve,
the Simmons pistol scopes (sometimes) available in the UK have a much longer eye relief than that. I would hazard a guess at somewhere around 20"+.
I've got one on a Rohm and I need to extend my arms fully. I just sold Mr. Petts a little Nikko that I picked up along the way, It had a slightly shorter eye relief. I don't know too much about the likes of Burris, Leupold etc but had been lead to believe that eye relief can indeed be much shorter on certain models.

    Hi Chris
I am just curious as to the eye relief in regards to the rule for the winter league pistol shooting, a one or two hand extended arm grip must be used. Does the rule mean your arms must be fully extended which would mean an eye relief of around 20” in my case? or is it a little more flexible.

    Steve,
not sure what the exact rules are but I've seen all sorts of holds being used. IIRC it's something along the lines of not allowing elbows to be rested on the body. I'm sure someone in the know will be along shortly .
It all seem a little contentious to me anyway. The more rotund amongst us don't have arms long enough to avoid elbows resting on some part of the body.

    Hi Chris
I was curious as to how the rule was interpreted, I should really be outside working but its to bl**dy cold and wet.

    Cheers

    Steve,
just had a look on the NEFTA site and unfortunately I couldn't find any reference to pistols other than on the results page.
I would suggest that Mr Baines or another of similar standing would be a better bet for the rules. I'm not typing with or claiming any great authority on the subject.

The rules are quite clear, the pistol must be held at arms length, one hand or two
you would need something like 20 ins eye relief
