ported for good flow you say,if a barrel is over ported for 12 ftlbs you can get problems,it could run fine at higher power though, also if the porting is rough were it enters the bore you can get pellet damage when the pellet is probed over.

I have a barrel which when fitted to a normally accurate gun makes it shoot like "a barrel of poo" to quote 7 goodish? shots and then 3 fliers etc. The barrel is from a good source but has not cost me anything so I have nothing to loose. Is there anything that can be done or who to send it to, to make it right or is it a case of using it as a poker
Does anyone want a challenge?? 0.22 by the way ported for "good" flow

Cheers for the replies, I need to open the port up to 4mm as it is for FAC use, so that may help, Jon can you mail me some more details as to exactly what I have to do? or will you have a go for me? pretty please
Kev hopefully enlarging the port slightly may help this?
Mark cannot say sorry

ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh h
i would not go larger than 4mm if the pellet as to be probed over it,just look for bured edges on the the bore side of port and smooth them out.you could also probe a pellet over then rod it through the barrel and check pellet for any scuffs.Originally Posted by Tomahawkss
