BSA Super 10 MkII & III

    Hello

Got loads of questions about these and appreciate any answers

Are all mark IIIs bull barrelled ?

Which is the quietest the carbine with silencer or carbine BB ?

A dealer told be he didnt stock super 10s as they were prone to leaks,
    anyone had problems ?

Also noticed on this site a few complaints about magazine problems
but was told by a S10 owner that they just needed wearing in.
Is this the generally the case ?

Finally is £395 a good price for a second hand Mk II with 4-12x50 Nikko Gold crown all in top conditions that someone offered me ?

    Cheers

    No

The answer is a bit subjective, Good add on mod is probably the BEST solution. But a cheap add-on mod won't be.

Damage the seal on the bottle, and it'll leak. There's one right way and 15 wrongs ways to remove them.

Theoben magazines wear out. Daystates mags are based on the S10 mags, and some people have struggled them in the past, but there's nothing wrong with them. BSA do a free repair service on the mga anyway, so if it stops working, it'll get fixed for the price of a stamp.

    What's it worth to you?

    Cheers

Second hand values are always difficult to work out, when you are considering a 'kit'. Not least because one man's idea of 'top condition' may not be the same as yours when you see it. Try before you buy if you can.

I had a .177 bull barrel carbine and loved everything about it, the shot count was lower then most s10 because of the size and it being .177.I had it blue printed...then the nasty man at the bank wanted more of my money , so it went ..

Just you dont get as much second hand as a wapid or a 410

As far as my research has gone, it seemed there were a few probs on occasion with some of the .177 mags on S10s. This does NOT mean they all don't work. I have (had, I'm just selling) a .22 and there were absolutely no probs with the mag at all - every time.

The filling system is perhaps open to more leaks because you remove the buddy each time you fill. This is very easy, but I guess it leaves it open to human error and so you'll hear more stories of leaks from this design than from a fixed push on type (IMO).

(someone will probs correct me now )

What are the differences between the S10 MKII vs MKIII?

Can someone list them out, at least the significant ones? I.e. better trigger unit, barrel, magazine/indexing, etc?

    Regards,

    Tony

No Prob's with mine, about a 1.000 shots so far. Different silencer as i thought the original was a bit loud, allway looking for advice to avoid problems. I'm carefull with mine but without knowledge, well you can guess the rest. Best pellets so far are AA Fields, LRG & FTT Allso Hobby, Superdome & S-H-Piont but those are light pellets. My advise for gaining advise. Every day tap in your subject in the search box, loads to read then place individual queries, not loads together. I like my .22 so much i might get a .177 to have a play with. Enjoy your S10 i think there ok !
