I wonder if pistols could be posted this way ?
Standard parcel post works well but takes about 3-4 days.

If you use Royal Mail Standard Parcels service, make sure you ask for ENHANCED COMPENSATION (£100, £250 or £500) and keep the till slip ie make sure you get a receipt for the posatge. That is ok for anything costing £500 or less, otherwise it is Special Delivery service - this starts at £500 and you pay extra for up to £2,500 on a parcel.

The bonus with Special Delivery is that it is the only TRACKABLE service, people think Recorded Delivery (only good for up to £30 i.e. thirty) is trackable, it is NOT - it is only recorded on delivery (hence its name) and then scanned into the tracking system.
