    Which Red Dot

    Hi guys
What would be a good choice of Red Dot sight to put on a Rhom Twinmaster Top for 10m target & plinking? And what No M.O.A should I be looking for?
    Thanks

Top of my list would be the Hakko holosight - outstanding little units

Although I thought most 10m disciplines are open sights only?

Import a Bushnell trophy red dot.
Has 4 sights, small red dot, large dot, cross, dot in circle.
Best thing about this is as you increase the brightness, the dot size does not increase, so makes it a precise sight in bright conditions.

There are folks on this sight that can get you one if you are not sure where to go.

Any flat bed style (hakko or ATN are good ones), for fast target aquisition, the ones with hoods are a hinderance on a pistol.

Another vote for the Bushnell Trophy. Have a word with Bones as I know he can get them at half the price Vickers are asking.

    Davestate, guys

Its a great red dot scope, the fact you can keep the small dot the same size regardless of the brightness setting really makes a difference. You have much more precision in aim point, of course you still have to hold the pistol steady.

We shoot HFT pistol targets out to 22-25yrds, 40 mm kill zones. On my old red dot scope the kill zone was obscured as the dot got bigger and bigger as you increased brightness (needed on a sunny day).

They cost a few more quid than the usual red dots on sale here, but well worth it.

Slight change... Red dots that "shake loose"

Sorry for a slight hi-jack, but red dots don't come up too often....

I have used a couple of red dots on my HW45 pistol (a Deben one and an Aimpoint knock-off from Hong Kong - the latter is very good subject to the rest of this note). With both, after 50 or so pellets they have shaken the sight to such an extent that the battery connections give-up. I imagine the little springy bits in the battery compartment are not making the contact they once were. I can twiddle a bit and it comes back for a while but it just gets worse until I can get nothing from it.

I know the HW45 is a bit brutal, but does anyone know the fix for this?

    Thanks, James

Moral of the story, James; don't buy cheap crap...
