    Red face walnut care

    Hi all
    this is my first post , just wondering the best oil to use for oiling a walnut stock

    i recently done my tx walnut stock with ccl gunstock oil.....great stuff and if you put the time in then you will get a top result

    Walnut oil is pretty good for walnut stocks, however, most of the oils will do a good job if applied sparingly and given plenty of rub. Aviod Duckhams, Castrol and Valvoline tho'.

    Boiled linseed oil is the traditional choice, used on all the finest shotgun stocks. It’s all I've ever used, costs peanuts and it does the job perfectly.

    Baby oil is also good.
    Now now lads no funny ideas.
