I have several Theoben rammers and the newer one's have that arrangement.
Up to s/n TB16500 -ish, they have allen bolts. After that, they have a screw in the rear trigger guard.
I got my new Evo today. Was checking it over and noticed that every visible fixing is a hex with the exception of the rear trigger guard which looks like a countersunk posi drive!! Have only done a visual inspection but it doesn’t seem right to me, Is this the usual fixing?

1st impressions. (not used it yet)
Well, its got the best bluing I have ever seen.
The break action is pretty tight and looks and feels like its made to last.
There is an overlap between the latch pushing the break action open and the bar pushing the gas ram back. (does that make sense?) different from the few break barrels I have used.
Was a bit surprised by the stock finish. Although it is damn fine design, the quality of the finish can easily be bettered by rifles of less than half the price!
Cant say I haven’t been warned…

Forget what it looks like....shoot it!
I find that my Evo (or SLR98) usually out-groups my TXHC by a few mm.
.
I can hardly wait to shoot it but my shoot meeting is cancelled this weekend.
If I cant find some place to use it till the next meeting , all I will be able to do is look at it longingly and try not to dribble.
If I get on with it, I will most likely give the walnut stock the finnish it deserves.
Im sure my words in the ‘second impression’ will be much more cheerful.

Ok, went to Kev’s shoot today and used it properly for the first time. it’s a fine rifle and a pleasure to use. I really get on well with it and found it hard to miss the targets. What can I say,,, I LOVE Marmite.
I expect Kev will be trading in his S410 soon

Theoben stockfinish can vary a lot. My Eli's stocks finish was also mediocre, my Evo's stock finish is pretty good though. Not as good as Webley though, nor is the blueing, but the blueing of Theoben ís good indeed.
That screw ís normal too, dunno why they do that either..
