Next question - Pedersoli LePage balls
.44 cal. Previous owner had no idea what he used!
This is my first single shot patched ball pistol so after some advice!

According to a .PDF from Pedersoli website (9TABELLA DOSI POLVERE 09-2010.pdf), the .44 Le Page percussion version takes a .435 ball, with .010 patches. It also suggests a starting load for the pistol of 18 grains black powder, and a maximum charge of 30 grains (the flintlock load starts at 24 grains, to a max. of 35 grains; same ball size and patch thickness).

Thanks. Someone has lent me some 440 and 5 thou patches to try which seems much the same so I'll give both a go.
