In the early 70s this firm made sights similar to this for shotguns and this looks just like one of them but am not certain.

In British slang an anorak is a person who has a very strong interest in niche subjects.
Quite a few out there as they sold loads. Still popular and they do sell, however condition is everything.
The perspex can crack especially with the single mount and probably why these were discontinue. Several versions, Day and Night/Day, and different type front perspex being either rounded or like yours. Red and yellow dots too. Mint ones go for as high as £90; most in the £30 to £60. The last one I sold went to a chap in Japan.
Sadly yours has had superglue that has misted/clouded and trashed it. I might still show a dot but it looks horrid. Scope £10 for spares, mount £20 as they are quite rare and period correct.
I will get back to him With your comments He will probably be glad to get anything like 30 quid for it
He has had it about 20 years
Tbh although as you all pointed out the perspex end has gone a funny colour it works quite well with a bright red dot ( wonder if that bit can be replaced )
Anyway if he decides to sell i will start a new post in this section
