For those who shoot rabbits....the poll.

Great idea from Elmar there. Thanks.

Have a look at the piccy, and post/poll where you shot would be placed.

    Picture.

I don't know about the others who voted for I11 but I really meant I10. I didn't trust the headings so counted squares back to the edge.

Bang on the line between I & J10, so I voted for both.

I would go for that if I'm out to the left slightly through the eye it's brown bread anyway.

    There's a 4 square block encompassing I10, I11, J10 and J11.
Sticking a pellet anywhere in that should achieve the same/desired effect.

And I didn't quite get the hang of the codes - I don't really try to shoot the tops of their heads off

Having read the above which deals with deer management a few years ago (in tactics) I changed from shooting for I10/just behind the eye and started going for the lower brain stem shot as described J11/J12 I/11/I12 preferably from a slight rearward angle. I found this results in less bouncers ie a hit in H/9 H/10 area or spinners L/10. This was especially a problem in legal limit .22 shooting where the trajectory was miscalculated. This would result in alot of disturbance around the warren etc. The lower brain stem shot turns them off like a light with no twitching or leg kicking, its only a pity that the hit at their end is so loud.
