I've had a very rough Cadet Major professionally re-blued and am about to reassemble and lubricate according to the spring gun tuning guide on here. However the internals of the cylinder are now blued.

Does anyone know if dry-slide moly will bond to a blued surface the same as it does to bare metal?

In the absence of expert knowledge I figure I have the following options:

1: Remove the internal blue back to steel (major ball ache) and lubricate exactly according to the guide.

2: Lubricate the insides with dry-slide as per the guide and see how it goes. If it works - good, if it doesn't - I expect the blue will wear away and then I can re-lubricate as per the guide.

3: Lubricate the cylinder with something different / more suitable to this finish - suggestions welcomed!

(I'm convincing myself option 2 is the way to go.)

Cheers,

Tom
