Its not an air gun but this is about a serious collectors piece and I need your help guys.

I'm working on rebuilding a famous rifle, its Malcolm Coopers first 300 metre rifle, which held many World records, won World championships, and still holds most of the UK 300 meter records. The late great Malcolm was probably the best target shooter this country has ever seen, he won two consecutive Olympics, and much, much more, and was the founder of the Accuracy International company. At the time he built this rifle he was the Walther importer to the UK, he built his own action in 7mm08 calibre, based on a Walther Jagd action, and fitted in a Walther GX1 stock. The original action is now in a museum in New Zealand fitted in a later stock.

I have the original (proven provenance ) stock, and after having several other actions fitted I have now found an early action from Keppeler also based on a Walther Jagd, which will allow us to rebuild the rifle to very close to original.

The problem I have is that the bolt handle cut out has been done, and filled several times for different actions, and Malcolm always selected his stocks at Walther and this is a very pretty dark tiger stripped walnut, and I need to cut out the area and then fill with a decent substitute piece of wood.
Does any one have some bits of dark Walnut ideally tiger stripped? A piece 2" X 2" and 1/2" thick would give me enough to have a couple of attempts at it.
Thanks
Robin
