Sussex Interclub HFT 2018 - Round 6 Results
Hi Everyone
Have you yet chilled after that sweltering morning up on the Downs and in the woods at Mile Oak? Hot or what?! My own core temperature is finally getting back to where it should be after one ice lolly, half a tub of ice cream and a pint or so of fridge-fresh orange juice.
Ahead of the starting whistle being blown, more SIHFT competitors were ‘thrown’ at the chrono, after 3 random pegs were selected. Pleased to say that all 7 (2 each on 2 pegs + a trio) survived the checks
Some interesting new target placements put out by the Oakies, including use of the ‘lower’ field; which was no surprise when you looked at the 3 foot tall weeds in the upper meadow.
Some challenging ‘wafty’ breezes to catch out the unaware or unlucky, but as it’s far from uncommon to have to aim off the plate out in the Oaks’ field; definitely not as tricky as it can be.
Anyway, here is the full set of results …..

Prize drawer winners today were, after quite a lot of ‘no-shows’ as score cards were pulled from the sack :
• Roy Pearce – the £30 cash prize, and
• Richard Chase – today’s Air Arms goody bag (which, along with Ford achieving 3rd place in the team results, made his day)
With Buxted widening the gap between them and Mile Oak by one more point at the top of the table, team scores today and points are:
Club Round 5 Cumulative Points
Buxted 271 70
Oaks 268 68
Ford 253 48
Horsham 252 49
Maldon 252 43
Meon Valley 251 55
Swallows 245 42
Iden Fern 229 36
Horsham, Iden Fern, MAD and Swallows all required lucky-dip cards. The first 3 needing just 1 card and Swallows 2.
As well as the UKAHFT double-header at Maldon, next weekend sees Horsham hopst another round of their Summer Open. SIHFT returns to Swallows FTC on August 5th for Round 7.

PS …… as we've now reached the point in the SIHFT year when you could have accumulated 6 scoring rounds (the minimum needed for the end-of-year tally), and after which you start to drop your lowest scores, do you want me to start publishing the league tables??
