John Bowkett Blueprinted BSA Super Ten MKIII Bull Barrel(.22) FAC has arrived!!!pics

My worst fears have been put to rest, the package arrived in tact in week's time from the U.K. to me in California...

Upon opening the package I was amazed at the Walnut Stock which Mr. Bowkett hand picked for me...then I unpacked the action and was stocked at the metal work on the custom Bull Barrel Shroud that he built for this rifle...

As an fyi, in building this quality rifle, he went so far as to asking the factory to deliver a new action to his home for my gun as the one he was building at the time wasn't to his liking, professional craftsman qualities that I truly respect. Additionally as a side note, after John learned that my first Super Ten that arrived from him didn't like JSB Exacts(5.52) at all, only the 5.51's which are harder to come by, he included in this shipment a replacement barrel and permanently attached custom FAC Silencer to swap in with a separate target and the tin of 5.52 Exacts that he shot the group with!!! I still have to install the barrel but am nothing short of amazed at this craftsman's professionalism.

After mounting the action, a Beeman One Piece Medium Mount and a Bushnell Elite 4200 6 - 24 x 40AO Mildot Scope, I filled the buddy bottle on my FX Compressor and sighted in quickly, only took 10 clicks to the right and 5 clicks down to be in the bullseye at 20 yards...

As with my other 12 FPE JB Blueprinted S10, this gun is a dream to shoot and angel fart quiet!!! Hopefully the weather allows me to shoot it more sometime soon, forecasted wet and ugly for the next 5 days in the San Francisco Bay Area!!!

If you're considering a high end PCP rig, I suggest considering the BSA line up, the Super Tens especially...and if you can spend a little more jingle, have Mr. Bowkett work his magic on the rifle...

    Regards,

    Tony

    It looks nice.

It doesn't look like the "standard" BSA bullbarrel
    http://www.bsaguns.co.uk/?ID=53&ProductID=587

More like the non bullbarrel with a very large silencer.

I did like the touch that JB used an American coin to show the group sizing.

    Lovely bit of wood too.

I knew I was gettting a custom FAC Shroud but was assuming it would look like a factory shroud but with nicer metal, possibly longer and custom bits internally...

Extremely happy with what I received to say the least...haven't seen any other S10's with this set up yet...

In fact... you may as well do both.

A bowketted hornet, scorpion and S10 would be a fairly good line up.

You may as well even get an ultra while youre at it

Also... how does that full length silencer compare to normal, shorter silencers? And the BB which will be louder obviously

much quieter than my FAC Hornet Multishot .22 Rifle which has the permanently attached factory SAS Moderator...

Compared to my 12fpe Super Ten(.177) Bull Barrel Rifle(factory stock, unmodified in any way) its as quiet, just a different pitch...quiet, more of a "choo"...a fast but low pitched report, more akin to what a silenced gun in the movies sounds like...

Compared to my John Bowkett Blueprinted Super Ten(.22) Rifle with custom FAC Silencer, its a little louder...this rifle's report is more of a baby's breath "sput" at the muzzle...

    Regards,

    Tony
