I know of one issue with that gun that affects accuracy. Some were known to have burred transfer ports that shave or scrape the pellet. The burrs must be removed by an experienced 'smith. RB
I was lucky enough to purchase a Parker Hale Dragon FT. It is a MK II.
It seems to be shooting around 10.5 FTLBs with JSB 8.4gr. Although it or I wasn't grouping very well with them.
I was wondering if there is a manual anywhere that I can Download? Any tips on the gun etc....... Pellet choices that seem to work well???
Would like to be able to replace the seals when the time comes but am leary having never seen one and have yet to take it out of the stock.
I know there is an individual on your side of the pond who is great with these guns but I really don't want to deal with shipping it back and forth.
The plan is to eventually shoot it in an FT match. BUt I tell you that is some pumping stroke especially from the sitting position. Even my being 6'1'' It is a long reach for me. A spring gun is definitely less work to cock.
Any help or suggestions greatly appreciated.

I had to take mine apart for the first time just the other night, quite a coincidence! The valve had stuck so that it would not fire when the trigger was pulled.
I was actually quite worried before I took it apart, having never done it before, but once I got it in pieces, it wasn't so daunting and I got it back together and fully working without any problems. You will need a full set of good quality Hex keys though, and a small flat-blade screwdriver, apart from that, no special tools are required.
I have a diagram and parts list that I will scan and e-mail to you if you like, drop me a private mail with your e-mail address. I also have scans of the manual that I can e-mail straight away, well, tonight!
Hope I can help you out,
Rob M
Thanks in advnace for the help.
Greatly appreciated.

Well I managed to get round to chronoing my Dragon FT that I have just bought, it has been stood for the past few years.
I wasn't expecting it to shoot at anywhere near full power but after 20 or so very inconsistent shots it was at 775 + or - 10 fps with Napier lubed JSB 4.51's.
Hopefully will get to see it get even more consistent as more shots are put through it.
Does any one have a copy of the manual they can scan for me, am interested in what maintenance needs to be done, also was the FT models action bedded on anything?
I have had the action out of the stock and the underneath was pretty marked but in some places a kind of thin layer yellow hard putty was attached around the action.
Have sorted the problem I had with the trigger blade by fitting one from a Daystate 2000 that I had lieing around. Also removed the block of wood from underneath and fitted a butt pad.

Matt

It was around 4 MB if memmory serves. Can check when I get home.
BTW that stock looks alot nicer then mine. Is it Factory? and I am assuming you or someone else added the knee riser.

Ray,
Thanx for the info, it is superb.
Will get some more pics sorted and will post some results regarding accuracy once I've dropped the Nightforce on it.
regards,
Matt
Thanks for passing that on Ray, I would have offered but I'm not on here as often at weekends nowadays... Guys, please pass that info on to any Dragon owners you know that might benefit from it!
Rob,
Will do.
regards,
Matt
Looks like that diagram and stuff has come in useful Rob! Nice to have it as a computer file rather than hard copy. Any chance of sending it to me! My Dragon is still duff. I'm going to get Adrian to give it the full works.

Hi There!
I have a parker Hale dragon MKII in .22 and had it tuned by Adrian Wilkes (substantian number of other parts, silenced pressure knob, lapped barrel). Is is very very consistant at 11,75 fpe (a very few fps apart). Pellet of choice (according to Adrian) most of the time is AA Field 5.52, BUT.... not with my barrel, since it is a tight one PH sometimes fitted. This barrel has a stamp on the left hand side. With this barrel Premiers are the pellet of choice. I'm very happy with mine! I had to lengthen the stock a bit since length of pull for me it is a bit short, and I used a black piece of rubber sole from the shoe shop:-)! Contoured and Sanded it to shape with the dremel. Very professional look!

I've recently bought a Parker Hale Dragon II which has been standing on its butt for the last year. It appears to be suffering from hydraulic lock. I've dismantled the valve and cleaned it but it still won't fire. When the valve is held in and the lever operated, with great difficulty, air can be heard escaping. However, I'm also trying to understand how the trigger / firing mechanism operates although, without the manual / operating instructions, to be honest, I'm a bit in the dark. The Dragon is in first class condition and I'm very keen to start using it. Could any of the Dragon enthusiasts, on this great site, please e-mail me a copy of the manual / operating instructions / parts list and any info would also be very much appreciated. Many thanks -and I look forward to participating in this forum with its interesting members on a regular basis.
