Not used them but it is probably the cheapest way to narrow down the rifle/pellet suitability. Saves spending 5 quid on a tin only to find it spits them out like a shotgun.
Otherwise you could ask on here for some samples of your short list, most people would send you a few in the post.
Thats a good idea Kev.
I'm using a .177 Harrier X (hopefully) so if anyone wants to send me a sample of their fav ammo i would be most grateful.
PS i'm hoping to get to HFT at worcester so anyone obliging me with a sample of pellets will see a pint of wet stuff coming their way.

Please dont send any until i can say for certain what gun i am getting.
Pellpax gives you about 40 brands of pellets each brand will have 10 pells.
used in groups of 5, that will allow you to test 2 guns with the full spectrum of lead.
If you are looking to find a match for your rifle then pellpax should set you right.
I buy all my pellets from Pellpax, great service there.

Amazingly, it's http://www.pellpax.co.uk/
I bought a .22 pellpax, very good it was too, some very interesting looking pellets in the pack and it helped me narrow down the choice of pellets for my Mk III considerably. Plus I had a happy couple of days shooting while I was doing it!
K.
Its surprising when you get a bad match. I had some groups that were over 4 inches (wasps, bulldogs) I was shocked at the results.
I ended with lazapel for the lightning and aa field .22 5.52 for the 410.
I must say it was A good days shoot, and I well enjoyed it.
If ppl say £13 for under 500 pells. I say the differance is in the fun you get from trying all of the types on the pre-printed targets and measuring them, if thats your kinda thing.
Also saves you loads of wasted money on cr@p pellets. Have just got a pack (38 samples) for .177, but haven't put them through the gun yet.
People have failed to mention that you also get 38 targets, and each target has printed on it a make of pellet as supplied in the pack. This makes it a lot easier to compare the results at the end of testing (providing you remember to use the correct brand of pellet with each target)

Hi Chris
Although I produce Pellpax I did not respond to the post earlier as I feel self praise is no praise and it is not for me to say whether they are good value or not.
But I do know a lot of members have tried them and could give an unbiased opinion on their worth, and as always I appreciate their kind comments.
