FAC & Airgun laws in New Zealand

Just wondering what the FAC & airgun laws are in New Zealand?

Also what are the crime figures like compared with England, had enough of this mamby pamby, slack jawed, yellow bellied PC government.

    Hi

    Good call.

Have a look at the NZ immigration web-page. You will notice that the page makes a point about the lack of corruption in the country! As for crime, what crime?

It also says that shooting is in the top ten (or 20, can't remember) of sports in NZ. Nuff said ay?

I wish I could go tomorrow!

Don't know about the FAC rules but I am sure they are sensible. Most towns have a good gunshop. Hunting and fishing is a way of life - particularly pig hunting! Blokes country. I lived there for 5 years and loved it . Bit isolated, doesn't matter if you turn left or right on take off from Auckland airport it is the same distance back to the UK. Wage rates aren't high but cost of living is lower. If you get outside auckland land and housing is very affordable. Loads of space and people generally leave you alone. Spent this winter out there with family in S Island around Dunedin - fantastic. Would go back tomorrow if it wasn't for UK family and business. Country is starting to get a bit PC compared to what it was but not like UK. Just go and visit around December - March and see what you think.

Visited a few years ago, too old to emigrate

On south island one of the local “Tourist Trips” was hunting those furry little monsters that are chewing their way right through the country!

Anybody know what the cost of living is like and what is the exchange rate £1 = $3 etc.

I take it they drive on the correct side of the road like us?

What are the health and school services like?

Again as much info is required.

    Many thanks in advance

One of the early members on here was a Ralph Starck who is a New Zealander. We met up when he visited the UK some 4 or 5 years ago.
He told us that his guns were in the 18-25 fpe range and that they used to mostly hunt rabbits and possums. He did have a forum at one stage, perhaps Rustam or someone else may remember the details.
He's the guy to talk to if you're serious about emigrating.
