Vic,
You sure it's not 22yds, heard that what you think is 8" is actually 4".
Just picked up a new Leup Comp 35 mag and quickly mounted it on my P700. I haven't checked it with a tape yet, but it seems to focus down to about 11 yards! I did'nt think they went down this low straight from the box?

My Comp comes down to 10.5 Yds. I understand that that is about average , you can also reparallax them down further as well.

D'you like it Sir?
And how is the milling machine working these days ?
Early days Paul but optically it's very good as you'd expect. I need to sort out a sidewheel & top turret before I can play with it properly!

They can be reparalaxed to about 9 yards without the resolution suffering.
Here you are: http://i83.imagethrust.com/images/4a...leupmarks.html Gaps at this end of the scale are about 5mm every two yards.

Hi Les, first off it's down to the range and mark up the wheel with a felt tip. Back home I transfer the marks to a piece of paper carefully wrapped around the wheel, I then measure the marks and draw it on computer. After printing a test on paper to check all is well, I then (laser) print the scale on self adhesive laser printable plastic film. To make sure I get it in the right place I drilled a 1.5mm dia reference point on the wheel when I made it - making sure it would be outside any distance marks. One other step I use is to draw a grid on computer with yards/mm on which I plot all the marks - to make sure they all conform to a consistent curve - any plots outside and I've probably made a slight error when first marking the wheel at the range! Hope this all makes sense!

It makes sense to me, I never could have come up with it. Hopefully I will be able to follow the procedures... Thanks for sharing this information as it greatly appreciated.
