New old 80 arrived this morning
Thanks to Kevin.ronnie for a great deal. All the important areas are in good condition, with a small amount of effort I think this will be a really nice example of an early 80.
Just picking it up brings back all kinds of memories. At the time it was released 12ftlbs was a lot of power for anything spring powered, I can remember being astounded when my uncle Dave told me that Gerald Cardew could get the 80 to an incredible 16ftlbs.
I could never get quite the same kind of accuracy from an 80 as I could from a 124 but that was probably just me. A great gun, a revolution in air rifle performance.

I had an early 80 when I were a lad... Fond memories!
I bought mine secondhand, and took it to my local club. It was chronographed at just over 16ft lbs... yikes!
Reluctantly had to sell it, but bought a brand new 77k which I also loved.

Yep mine made 16ftlb straight from the box when I stuck it on the chrono at Streatham Armoury in 1982..
