    FAC PCP's in gun safes?

Just pondering the wisdom of enclosing so much air in so much shrapnel.......

This really cant be a smart idea if theres a fire?

FAC air rifles don't store air at higher pressures do they? I know they allow air at higher pressure to act against the pellet through the valve or regulator than a 12 foot pounder, but I thought they stored it at the same pressure, hence less shots per charge. Or am I way off beam here

i very much doubt whether the relatively small pressures in pcps would be enough to make a mills bomb out of your gun case.

Some FAC Rifles do fill to a higher pressure, but re: the explosion risk of one "going off" in a gunsafe, I'd be more worried about the steel cased 300 bar cylinder next to it!

I keep all my PCPs in metal cabinets, and I reckon they are actually safer as the cylinder shrapnell would be fairly well contaioned by the cabinet - the massive difference in volumes betwen the cylinder and the cabinet would mean that the pressure itself would no-way breach the cabinet, although some of the shrapnel might....

don't think it would blow my titan gunsafe apart, it,s 1/4" thinck steel and the door is very much like that of a safe with inner and outer shell.

yeh, i think the military research labs of the world might be quite interested if someone found a way to do that with 200psi of compressed air!
