Be aware that deepblueshooting don't actually have any cylinders with the MDE airgun valve, even though they use their picture on the website it is not what you will get. They are basically a dive shop, and all they stock is ordinary diving cylinders, and a rather basic charging adapter (the Beaversports one) which is not as good as the MDE adapter, e.g. the pressure guage goes up to 400 BAR and is only graduated every 20 BAR, so its difficult to read precisely. Also it uses a 1/4"BSP thread to attach the hose, so you can't directly fit a DIN to cylinder adapter to it such as e.g. the HW100 or S200T uses, like you can with the MDE arrangement.

This also means that, being a standard diving valve, you will have to get the cylinder retested every 2.5 years, whereas with the proper MDE valve it would only be every 5 years for surface use.

Faber cylinders are made in batches, and typically arrive in the Spring, so any cylinder you buy at the moment will be dated 2007 or earlier. This is the date relevant to the first 2.5 year test, so insist on one with as recent a date as possible.

As long as you understand this they are good value. If you buy them in the shop they will usually knock off another £15 (there is no such thing in this world as "free" postage
