Sorry, but I do remember it being a heavy bu@@er though !
I was thinking of getting a new scope and quite fancy the nikko stirling 6-24x42 sidewheel sniper.
Can anyone tell me what minimum distance this will focus down to, and can you get sun shades for this scope.

Always looking for any cheap, interesting, knackered "project" guns. Thanks, JB.
Cheers i had all ready looked at their site under specs and that didn't tell me, but as i have now looked again it says 10- metres in the text about the diamond scopes
Hi Andyman,
A while back I had both the 10-50x60 and the 6-24x42 Nikko Stirlings to review for the magazine for which I write.
The 6-24 is a very nice little scope, basically a more reasonably proportioned varation of the 10-50. In terms of minimum focal distance it came own to just under 10 yards at full mag on my test sample. Unfortunately I do not think there is a sunshade available, also the test scope did not seem to have threads on the objective lens housing to allow fitting of a shade.
The article has not yet been published in the UK, but have a look at this link: www.airrifle.co.za/Reviews/nikkoDiamond.htm
Hope that helps.
Dale
Thanks Dale
Thats just made my mind up for me the focal distance is fine for me, and if i find i do need a sun shade then maybe one of debens new rubber pull over sunshades may do the trick.
