Gems were made for many years (c1890 - 1930s) by a variety of different European manufacturers. Some were rifled, others smoothbore, and could be had in .177, .22 and .25 calibres. Hiller has an extensive section on these lovely old guns!
Can anyone tell me the history of these rifles? A friend has lent me one to have a plink with. This one is a .177 with a pair of crossed pistols and GEMno6739 stamped on top of the octagonal part of the barrel.
Does anyone stock mainsprings for these?
Thanks, Daz

Just looked up Gem on Google and found this :
www.beemans.net/airguncollecting.htm
Probably most of you serious collectors are already aware of this site but to a dummy like me it is quite informative
