    Webley service Mk2 Stock

    Hi
    Info required
    The stock on my recently acquired Webley Mark 2 Service [Third pattern]does not have any chequering.Is this normal? The stock does look as if it has been refinished at some time but not enough wood has been removed to take off the chequering.Any thoughts?

    I haven't yet seen one without chequering on both sides of the pistol grip area.

    could have been sanded off the chequering on these is very thin
