i bought a crosman c40 the other day, and me being me i wanted to look how it worked but when i opened it the hammer action has disasembled itself when i lifted the case off so i just need a bit of advice on putting it back together again, ps i dont really understand the exploded diagram so any help apreciated..

Looks like you're out of luck bud.
Just had a quick look at the online manual for you: http://www.pyramydair.com/site/manuals/crosman-c40/ and it clearly says "DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DISASSEMBLE IT! Your air pistol requires special tools and fixtures to repair it. If you take it apart, you probably will not be able to reassemble it correctly. Crosman assumes no warranty responsibility under such circumstances."
Best bet is to take it to a gunsmiths and hope they'll put it back together for you.

im almost fixed.
got the hammer action working, even the safety.
but now ive got to get the barrel release spring in while shutting the case, how crosman do these things amazes me

and the hardest part of it was linking the eyelet hammer spring up.
i dont think you can imagine how good it felt when i heard the pop and clink of the pellet hitting the tin can after firing
