I did a 2250 there much the same except for barrel length and stock type.

    details :- www.ora8i.co.uk

I just noticed you used the P word "Time For the Mantra"

"once a pistol always a pistol" ie 6FPE max your better off with a Ratty 12FPE max.

I am using my harrier x as my main wepon, with hollow points.
But i m interested in a side arm for stuff out to 8 yards only.
+ the americans on this site use there 2240's out to 10 yds
so why do we only recomend to use them to 5?Rat Kill

P.S: I know that they have no legal limit but one in this forum is a standard 2240 with rb grips so it must be the same power as ours.

Also does anyone know what are the most heavy/most devistating pellets for rats. (In .177 and .22)

hollow points like Super H point would do the job, and probably most flat heads but at distance accupel or JSB exacts would be a good choice but the hollow points for closer distance not as much chance of over penetration

LOL!! I've just been reading a bit of that 'RatKill.com'.

Spears and throwing knives to kill rats, indeed...
Put on heading 270, assume attack formation

There are lots of things you can do to a 2240 and most make a real difference to the look and performance of the gun. Check out the link. The pistol in the pic has a anodised crooked Barn Ultimate breech and extended bolt, shortened barrel, a set of RB wood grips and a trigger shoe. Plus the whole thing has been re blued and the frame re finished. It took me a long time to finish it off but i think it was worth it. If you want a good place to start, buy a metal breech from Jim at the Crooked barn, as it comes with scope grooves so you can mount a scope or red dot.

    Cheers,

    Steve.

if i add a shoulder stock does that mean the pistol qualifies as a rifle in the eyes of the law?

That's been the subject of much debate on this BBS, I believe the conclusion was that if the manufacturer made it as a pistol, no amount of add-ons will turn it into a rifle and the power limit stands at 6 ft/lbs.

I've read through a couple of posts, completely misguided! Shooting rats with CO2 gamos indeed.

They seem to mostly be full of **** on that ratkill site, i doubt a lot of them have even shot a rat before, they really do give out the wrong image of our sport, i know we're hardly the most PC bunch, but that site is full of wannabes giving out bad info to people who dont know any better.

Not a bad little pistol, a bit rough round the edges. Needs a little tweaking and polishing not unlike the 2250. IIRC it also uses the same plastic breach so if you want to mount a red dot sight you have to use the crappy Pro Blox or a better idea is to get a breach with dovetails like the ones at Crooked Barn or TR Robb. The Robb ally breach does have more substantial dovetails than the Crooked Barn units IMO. As for the T R Robb haters out there it is a descent breach so no "hang him" chants please
