Pistol grip type L-J rifle stock, the version with the recess for the "long tang" trigger guard. The L-J figure and lettering are good as is the chequering. It has minor dings consistent with its age. Some vandal long ago has carved a shallow "H" into the base of the pistol grip, but this could be smoothed out and still leave the grip OK. No butt plate.
