hw100 air leak
wene i screw the cylinder on i hear air comming through the barrel .any ideas folks
-
yes send to hull cartridge for a service.I had one that leaked spent over twelve months trying to get it sorted now its fine or try fluffybuck on here for info

Sure it's from the barrel?
Check and see if it's actually coming from the screw fitting itself where the cylinder attaches - usually a slight loss of air at that point as the valve begins to open and the cylinder gives a bit more resistance as its turned until it is fully seated, ensure it's screwed in all the way.
Hope that helps.

Probably a loose breech block, but could be a sticky firing valve.
At your risk of damage/injury:
Take off air reservior.
Take off stock (2x 4mm bolts).
Remove barrel (1x 2mm grubscrew upwards-angled).
Take off trigger unit (2x 4mm bolts) (cocking arm must always be closed when removing or refitting trigger unit).
Split the action halves (2x 4mm bolts).
Tighten the two diagonally-opposite 4mm bolts on the front action half.
Refit barrel.
Re-join action halves.
Re-fit trigger unit.
Re-fit stock.
Re-fit air reservoir.
Should be job done.

no joy fluffy .put a new cylinder o ring on today the one that goes on the brass nipple what the cylinder screws to . still comming out barrel . i have a fx and the original cylinder it is still leaking with both
-
Sorry to hear you have a problem. Do you keep the cylinder on the gun or store it separate?
-
I had a similar problem last month. It sounded as if the air was leaking out from the magazine area. Took it back to The Air Gun Centre, they sent it to Hull for repair, took 3 weeks but is OK now.

hi ginger i have fx cylinder so keep it on gun .went in to give it a clean and this started happening was fine till then
-
ive lapped the valve and seat with toothpaste, as its mildly abrasive and works very well.
not the minty blue gel - its gotta be the white abrasive type
-
HW do say that removing the cylinder protects the valves springs and seals so I remove mine.Nobody else I know does, but then they tell me about leaks!
Sorry this does not help, but maybe a thought after the problem is fixed.

If it's leaking through the barrel, then air must be getting through the firing valve or breech somehow.
Either the firing valve has a problem (a bit of muck), or the breech has a problem.
Air exiting via the barrel shouldn't have anything to do with a malfunction of the air reservoir.
There's a small chance that the reg is sticking.
Follow the above stripping procedure, but once the two halves are split, re-fit the air reservoir and turn the 5.5mm (ish) allen bolt anti-cockwise one turn, then turn back to where it came. If the reg is sticking, you'll hear it unstick.
