Yes. I run the comp's on the B.S.A.O.G & the A.A.O.C and 1986 is the year my B.S.A Stutzen was made .

Somehow, I was expecting Chris to provide a more compelling reason for 1986.

We must go with what we have, and if 1986 or some such is the cut-off date for what most of our shooters OWN, we'll have to select that as the date.

It does seem odd to me to describe something only 13 years old as being "vintage", though.

An "antique" in this country is defined as anything over 50 years old So "vintage" could be 25ish

I could say that was a typo! Or simply that I've not yet recognized any date post-90's as being real: or that I became a genuine "antique" nearly a decade ago...

If 50 years old is an antique, and we're speculating that 25ish is "vintage"...oh, hell, I'm going to look up the antique collector's def of vintage!

Yes, possibly interested in it, but I don't think any of my "classics" are 1970 or before.

My B.S.A Stutzen is 1986 & my Webley pistols are late 70's/early 80's. The same goes for B.S.A Scorpion pistol and I think my Mk III Webley is early 1970's at best, so I too would not have a suitable "tool" either.

I started a classic spring air rifle comp' last year on the airgun hq website, but there was only myself & my brother in law competiting & it folded.

I think you will find that the use that date because it is when Gamo bought BSA (so really Spanish now).

1986 is getting a bit late for a vintage competition as some of the guns from that era are still in production i.e Daisy 717.

What would y'all (Southern personal pronoun meaning "you", both singular and plural) say to THIS as a cut off date: "older than 25 years."

I make that, oh, 1984, or earlier.

O.k then, what about 1986, but the rifle or pistol has to be one that's no longer in production, e.g. A B.S.A Meteor could be used, but it would have to be pre' Mk 5 & pre 1986. Not sure when the Mk 6 was first made.
