John Knibbs made one for my Mercury S. It was not cheap but it is much stronger than the original part. It was well worth it.

I had a cocking arm made and bought a used mercury stock from John Knibbs about ten years ago for about £60.00 together. How much of that was for the cocking arm, I am not sure. It is machined from solid and very strong. It might be worth phoning Knibbs for a quote.

i had my mercury apart a few weeks ago and found a meteor cocking link but it was a good bit shorter than the merc one..

though it was the articulated type...

the merc is a longer stroke than the meteor, i think if you tried fitting the meteor barrel/cocking link, you wouldn't be able to close the barrel (i may be wrong though...)
