the original rifles usually have the date stamped on the left side of the cylinder just above the stock and over the trigger area, it's minute so you may need a loupe or magnifying glass

I recently aquired an Original model 35 air rifle from Pennineway on here.
I am curious as to it's age.
The only info I have is from Hillers guide and the stock is quite different from the illustrations.
There is no chequering, but the fore stock has a single finger groove.
It has no sight rail so open sights only with a tunnel foresight.
The aluminium trigger is fully adjustable and very sweet.
I can't find a serial number.
Any Ideas as to its age people???
Regards Mike

Hi Mike,if its the rifle I think it is its a very early one 1953/upto 1960 hence no scope rail or serial number & stamped up "Foreign" Gecado also did this when importing rifles into the USA instead of using the trade name Mayer & Gammelspacher Made in Germany. These rifles have the nice 3 ball adjustable trigger I bought myself a rare 177 35S off here a while ago sold needing just a stock refinish & a good clean Needless to say when it arrived it needed a lot more (a total rebuild) bent/worn cocking arm/worn jaws even the spring was U/S but its coming together nicely now.All these fine rifles are worth the extra mile & TLC you give them atvb Rellum

Mike, do you have any pics? I bought a gorgeous Original Model 50 from Josie and John (thanks again J&J) a couple of months back of similar vintage, I am really impressed with the quality.

i had a gecado (US spec) and it was the same as the originals that i've owned, it's strange how there are these little differences eh
the gecado that i bought had one ball missing and so wouldn't cock but i found a supply in an old push type cylinder mower, i used one for that gun and put the rest somewhere safe, so safe in fact that i don't have a clue where they are
