Talking Vintage TEX 86 and Hungarian .177 air pistols FOR SALE

    The ‘judicious thinning’ continues….

    FOR SALE
2x Air Pistols: TEX 86 and Hungarian Relum Artex break barrel, both .177
    .

    These: http://i377.photobucket.com/albums/o...nk/pistols.jpg

TEX Model 86 – first pattern.
This is a Czechoslovakian break barrel .177 pellet air pistol with solid black plastic frame and rifled steel barrel. One of its more unusual features is the trigger adjustment screwdriver that is housed in the back of the cylinder end cap and simply unscrews out.

Condition; good. Black plastic frame is intact with no losses, cracks or repairs and just general surface marks. Blued steel barrel shows general light wear. Original fore and rear sight. Marked TEX 086 MADE IN CZECHOSLOVAKIA 156338.
Cocks and fires fine. Barrel length 7.3”, total weight 1.25kg, overall length 13.6”.

This is the first model which started in 1972, after 1980 it was renamed the Tex Model 3. –There’s a full history of it in John Griffiths’ superb Air Pistol Encyclopedia book.

I’m asking £35 collected or can post with the following options; UK Standard Parcels with cover to £39 will be £4.50, 1st class recorded £7.50 or next day Special Delivery £8.80

    --------------------------------------

Second pistol… Relum Artex . The action is simply marked Made in Hungary with the serial number 09167. There is a triangle within brackets marked to the barrel; (Δ).

Given its similarities to the above TEX model and the RO71 I’d expect it to date to the 1970’s-80’s.

This is a break barrel .177 pellet air pistol with solid brown plastic frame and rifled steel barrel.

Condition; good. Brown plastic frame is intact with no losses, cracks or repairs and just general surface marks. Blued steel barrel shows general wear as can be seen. Original foresight, rear sight absent; there is a milled channel where it would just slide into.
Cocks and fires fine; not hugely powerful and may benefit from a clean or re-spring. Barrel length 7”, total weight 1.35kg, overall length 13.3”.

I’m asking £20 collected or can post with the following options; UK Standard Parcels with cover to £39 will be £4.50, 1st class recorded £7.50 or next day Special Delivery £8.80

The "unknown" Hungarian pistol was made by FEG (Relum) of Budapest and dates from the 1970's. It was also sold as the Relum Artex, a name likely to have produced some confusion due to the popularity of a certain type of ceiling finish at the time. It's a well made chunky, solid steel gun, let down only by the plastic stock, but a good collectable for all that. Both guns for £55 posted is a bargain for any collector of air pistols - I would certainly buy them if I didn't already have both.
