Nice little collection... i will try & dig out pics of my old one...

Anyway back on topic, after a phone chat today with the extremely helpful & pleasant Bonnie & Clyde Dave - the 85 will be winging it's way up to him next week for a few weeks stay & a makeover.

Will update with pics on its return.

Anyway, back off the subject ...

I had words with Dave the other evening for the first time. What a very knowledgeable man! I awaiting a '35 being re-blued then Im going to try one of his kits in it.

Im sure you will be well pleased with the results of your '85.

    Quick update on the 85...

    It's now sporting a lovely period jap tasco 3-12 x 40.

I just need some era correct glossy mounts to match as the current matt black one piece doesn't look right... - If anyone knows of or has any i would appreciate a nudge.

...then it's off to Colin at MAG for complete re-blueing in January.

SO glad I decided to keep it! - A few months after joining up on here, I am well & truly hooked! I am now after a nice 77k or 97K!

I will update with some photo's in the next few days.

    Ednar

Just for your info, the first scope I ever got (Christmas 1983) was a 4x32 Ednar. I still have it, in fact its in from on me on my desk. Its optics are quite superb, and even has the yellow Japan telescope inspection institute "10" sticker.
These days for build and optics like this you have to buy German.

Yes the optics are very clear. I'm keeping it for my next classic HW purchase of 2010!
