It looks like a Model 28 to me. They're quite rare and sought after. I have two!
My father has asked me to get this valued, it is a smooth bore air pistol made by Haenel, I dont think it is complete, think it should have a piston inside the chambre, there is something at the bottom that might be the piston, diddnt want to damage it by finding out.
On the top of the chambre it says "Haenel mod 26 pat no 277265 D.R.P" also says made in Germany on the side.
The handles are made from wood and the rear sight is missing.
Does anyone have any info on this, and whats it worth?

Definately a mod 26, the writing is very clear.

According to the encylopedia of spring air pistols the Mod 26 is a cheaper version of the Mod 28 but in the Blue book the prices of the 26 are slightly higher. 95% condition is $225 about £130 but in the condition of yours about 20% with parts missing $50 or £35 Circa 1926-late 30s

A Haenel 26. Nice pistols better balanced than the all steel 28s imo. In that sort of codition £50-60 owuld be tops I'd reckon, they are quite rare in and decent nick would go for anout £100-120.
Be a nice project for someone.
Definately a mod 26 - therefore twenties to thirties - I would say as the normal finish is sort of painted that even in this condition it is worth £100 ish and I am known for low valuations (I think).
I'd go for it, rare gun.
