    Ultrasonic Cleaner

    Anyone use an ultrasonic cleaner?

Just wondered if would be a neat solution for cleaning pistol parts after use. For instance, could I dump a complete Ruger OA in the tank, add a little detergent and warm water, switch on, go and enjoy a well-earned post-shoot beer and then come back to a shiny spotless pistol? Dry at low heat in the oven and spray with wd40 before putting away in the safe? Save all that mucking around with solvents, brushes, rods, etc...

what does the panel think? (apart from that I'm a lazy sod who should get on with cleaning it properly in the old-fashioned way )

I have a small ultasonic cleaner, from Maplins about £30.

Its not large enough to fit my complete ROA in, but its ideal for cleaning the cylinder and nipples, while Im giving the frame and barrel the once over with a toothbrush and a bronze brush.

I use washing up liquid, and warm water, and run it two or three cycles of 480seconds, the parts come out spotless.

So im certain, if you find a cleaner large enough to fit the frame, it would work perfect. I would still strip the cylinder and nipples to ensure getting rid of all the BP crud.
