Although it turned out decent I'm not 100% happy with the finish Instead of the usual danish oil, I had it lacquered by a workmate of my Dad who lacquers high end kitchen units for a living. The lacquer is very hard wearing so is perfect for this type of thing. He has done me gun stocks in the past and done an excellent job but this time for some unknown reason the lacquer has a slightly milky look in places. I don't know if you can see it in the pictures? Also if I did it again I think I would have used a slightly thicker piece of walnut (I just used what I had) and made both left and right sides more pronounced. Never the less it fits my hand lovely.
