    Pistol choice - refined

Been looking at pistols with a view to some club level shooting, in addition to my existing FT rifle activity. (My rifle is the HW100S, and I am impressed with the quality of construction.)
Both the Webley Alecto and the HW75 look very good, and both look like they will do the job.
Anybody got any preference either way - based on what?
Are both guns plastic body shell? .. or is the HW aluminium?
    Best place to buy new?
What sort of power level do they run at - I know the Webley has a single/double stroke option - does the HW have this as well?
..... And any other advice you can give me would be very appreciated.

    Many thanks in advance Rob177

The HW75 has a better trigger and build quality but it is only around 2ft/lbs in power. This is fine for 10m paper but you may find it lacking on longer nockover targets.

The HW75 is all metal construction like the HW45. Single stroke operation only.

The Alecto trigger is not quite as good but still nice to use. External construction is plastic, but it is well made and durable. Multi pump give you more power (up to 5.5 ft/lbs) than the HW75 but you also get more muzzle flip and movement at the higher powers. It is still an excellent pistol for the money though.

For nockovers probably the Alecto, for pure paper punching probably the HW75. But you need to try both to see for yourself really.

So you decided you're not interested in serious match 10m pistol shooting?
Cause if you áre, neither of those are a good choice, cause neither are them are matchpistols! They will lack: triggerwise, sightwise, adjustability, etc.
Nothing beats a FWB SSP at clublevel.

Rob Any Chance you can make it up to Coventry at the weekend, the UBC are holding an event at the Greyhound, and there will be dozens of pistols you will be able to try.

My Vote goes to the Alecto, because it can be used for target and HFT (and i have one )
Fancy shooting your air pistols & rifles a bit more, then guy's & gal's come visit us at the
UBC for loads of fun competitions for all types of air pistols and rifles.
