Hi. Seem to remember a thread about one of these sometime in the past, but I can't find it. I think it is a hand mould for casting large lead musket balls or the like. Am I right? If so anyone like to try and best guess an age for it please, and then a value? Its been in my fabled T-chest of spares and bits for a long time now, and I finally feel the need to know a bit more about it . Many thanks. Atb: G.

Yep single ball mold with sprue cutter just behind the hinge. Any marks or stamps (wire brush at the ready), and made of steel by the rust evident.

Looks like a biggy .69 or above

Ha ha. You know it . Anyone any idea as to a date and value yet please, as may move it on to ad cash to my Service MkII .177 barrel fund if worth the hassle ??? (will be giving it the wire wool treatment as detailed above this evening ). Atb: G.
