Hi Chaps,
I will probably be lynched for writing this but I am becoming a big fan of SMK. I know they are chinese..etc but I have owned an SMK 20 which was very good and now I have just bought a 19 with the intention of protecting my garden from pests. This gun is again excellent with a quality stock and good accuracy.
What I was wondering was is the 19 a copy of an existing rifle? Does anyone know what the TH208 action is? If the 208 is anything like my 19 I maybe tempted to buy one of those as well.
I am asking on here because I actually rang SMK but the lady I spoke to didnt seem to know what an air rifle was.
Cheers

I'm quite a fan of Chinese ones too, Have an XS78 like the look of the XS19.
Best place to get advice is http://ukchineseairgunforum.myfreeforum.org/
The xs19 is a copy of the Gamo 440/Crosman Quest 1000/ 800X isn't it?
The xs20 is the HW95 clone
Not sure yet what the TH208 action is, but the only place i've seen then is £200 plus. That's a lot of notes.
Thanks for the link and info, the quality of the chinese guns has improved but I will wait on the TH208 till I actually see one. The 19 could well be a copy of the 440!
Uses the same trigger mechanism, mainspring things as the 440 so it more than likely is mate
The XS19 is a Gamo 440 Hunter copy. The XS208 is a copy of the RWS34, and the same as a Ruger Airhawk.
Airshooter has the wooden stocked version of the 208 listed at £129.95, but the real bargain is the SYNSG, which is the 208 in a synthetic stock and listed at £94.95.

Thanks Lite...thats useful to know-in fact I want the synthetic one!
That also means the TH208 is a bloody expensive Thumbhole stock upgrade for such a cheap springer.
I cannot really offer advice but, when I came back to airgunning about 15 months ago I walked into a gunshop, said I wanted a rifle to shoot rats and walked out with an SMK XS20.
Bloody good gun imho - yes it's a Weihrauch copy (95?) but a bloody good one. The engineering is tight, the woodwork good, it is accurate and it costs about 1/3 of the original.
It also dispatches rats efficiently.
I'm sure its a clone of an HW(Dont know what model).
