i load about 1000 cartridges a year for use on a black powder game shoot
if you are using them in a nitro proof gun
you will struggle to get enough in to a cartridge to do any harm
all i use is a powder flask set at 3.5 drams
1/2 felt wad and compress the powder
1 1/4 oz no 5 shot from a shot flask
beermat card and roll turnover
card or plastic cases work well and can be reloaded several times
triple 7 powder works very well at 90grs 1 1/4oz
richard
cheers.

Do not use any plastic in BP sg rounds apart from the cases. The heat from BP is amazing & 25 rounds quick fire will have your barrels v v v hot. I used plastic obturater discs & they melted. When I cleaned the barrel, the residue looked like chopped up fishing line.
BP is slow so it is best to use no 5 shot at 1 1/4 oz with 75 to 90 gr coarse BP. You will need a roll top in a 2 3/4 case. I use 3 " cases and paper/waxed wads
