Best you plan your courses well because come October you will be in for a rules fest.

For what its worth, I thought the course was brilliant - very, very clever target placement. True, it was challenging but what else were we expecting? It lived up to expectations, I loved it.

It is also notable that when we get a clearance (which is after all only by one or two out of 70+ competitors remember, representing about 1.5 - 3% of those who enter) mutterings of "easy course" abound.

The trick is to have a mixture. I think we've got it about right in the series. All straightforward would be boring, all challenging would be dispiriting.

And as this is the Oakie thread rather than the Hobbit one, I look forward to improving on my usual mediocre performance which the Oaks normally brings out of me.

    Hurrah!

How very true Richard. I've yet to encounter an easy course at Ford, in this, or any other series.

That's my point Charles, my little puddin' of delight

You found it easy, easy enough to clear it, but how many others did? I made a complete hash of it as I recall.

Hobbit land was a different story - a much harder course at which Mr Simpson excelled, ok he didn't clear it but he was 2 points clear of his nearest rival.
