Thanks, this will be very useful ... but does anyone know how I could find out who owns what land without spending a fortune (some internet sites will tell you who owns a field for something in the range of £50!!)
i too have wondered how you find out who owns land and where it is etc. anyone?
land registry at the town hall
But a quicker way is to go drinking in a pub where farmers go and buy them a pint,,,you'll find out all sorts
The impossible I do immediately, miracles take 24 hours..
NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE,IT JUST COSTS MORE
Greetings to you all, my name is Sean and i've been shooting since the age of 13 which was over 30 years ago !! I got into air rifles back in 02 when i borrowed a mates TX200 for a rat problem at home and i was hooked!!:
Right that's the intro taken care of,
If you're passing the fields and farmers are working why not stop and have a chat you'd be surprised what can materialise from a conversation, all my land here came about as i spoke directly to a, the landowner as he walked his dog and b, a bloke pulled into the field taking notes and making calls from his 4x4, he turned out to be the farmer and he gave permission and 4 fields there and then So when i'm not out shooting the land i'm walking the dog and doing a recce

is there any advice on getting permission? I am fairly new to the game and im finding getting permission almost impossible! Is it a case of loitering around farms hoping to bump into a farmer or should i knock on doors??

very good letter ill see if it can help me get permission.thanks
ill tell you if i get any luck
Just a thought for another use/way to seek permissions - From a few years back but I also used similar letters with local sports grounds/amateur football clubs and got a permission on a local ground with rabbits that liked digging in the goal mouths... nice private spot with plenty of cover [for cover read seats!]
Just or mine typed up and printed fingers crossed eh....
