    Good target plinking pistol

Ive not been rifle shooting for a while due to back problems so short term want to do some 10m Pistol Target shooting at local indoor club and plinking in the garden/garage.

the three pistols im thinking of are:

    Webley Alecto
    Gamo Compact
    Weihrauch HW 40

Has anyone got experience of these and is there much between them in accuracy, quality, feel etc.

    Regards
    Kev

    Target/PLINKING

    Hi Guy
Take you pick from any of the guns you mention. Just remember that they all have different characteristics.
The Alecto is recoiless and variable power, the HW 40 has powere to spare and both of these are accurate. The Gamo is rapid fire but is a little down on accuracy.
It's also good to remember that you can plink with a target pistol but not shoot good target scores with a plinking gun.

    Enjoy

Gamo compact is potentially the best handling single shot SSP of the three, the trigger can take a little fettling to make it spot on, if you were talking mainly paper punching I'd say the Gamo.
The Alecto gives you a lot more power & will punch through steel tins that the others will just dent.
The HW40 has an ambi grip and lends itself to left or righ hand and two handed shooting and is without doubt a class act.
You should come down to the next Redhill Revolvers shoot, I could bring my Alecto & Gamo Compact, someone's sure to have an HW40 they could bring for you to try,

The Gamo Compact is a single shot entry level target pistol and a very good one too with a very good reliability record.

The HW40 again a good pistol, good reliability record and very good accuracy.

The Alecto...accurate but there are examples where there have been trigger problems and even a cracked cylinder.

For target work, the Gamo is about the best especially when 2nd hand.

Got a HW40 (newer Model with tru glow sights) and recently purchased Webley Alectro - both good pistols and not very noisy so wont annoy Neighbours!!

    Pistols

Have no idea about the Gamo,

Allecto I have and is a great gun, but getting pricey??

HW 40 fairly cheap in the scheme of things, but a cracking little gun especially for indoor or garage shooting,

Do like Nick say's come to a Redhill Revolvers Meet and try em all,

    Ratty,
