has anyone built anything like this in the UK? i was told this can shoot 30 pellets at around 50ft/lbs with an Extreme spread of <10ft/s
i don't know but i like that mate. very nice.
Its a BSA Hornet single load flims, I looked into having one before I got my .25 rapid, but after owing a BSA "special" FAC .22 Hornet multi-shot I decided to go for the Rapid build by Ben Taylor, I wanted a mulit-shot and BSA dont do a mag for a .20 and a .25 .
Very good engineer is mr Jb but so is Benny boy and for me the Rapid is a far more superior rifle then the hornet in alot of ways.
I'm forever blowing "Bubbles"
the bottle hanging in the front does not appeal to me, i know that performance wise rapids are nice but i prefer the bowkett picture above. what do these go for roughly? i don't mind the single feed option, i just want it to sharpen wind reading skills with it so single feed is good.
my brother talked to john i think last year about it.He had 3 or 4 new single shot Hornets he had aquired from somewhere, from what i remember he was talking up to 60ftlb regged.25 for £650
As a matter of interest what hunting range are we talking for a .22 or .25 at 60 ftlb or more?
the energy is there to kill at ranges farther than you would like to shoot at quarry, the issue is getting them in the kill zone consistently from field shooting conditions. i can tell you that even at 140 meters, it still goes through 1 inch chipboard. its a winner but in essence you are still shooting a light 31grain pellet so range must be kept to within your abilities of performing consistently. If you were shooting heavy 30 cal soft lead from a big bore Pcp, i would be inclined to say otherwise.
