The one week rule is to become a two week rule.

Following some grumbles over the years, of late, we the mod team have been placing the following post on sales threads that are over one week old if they get bumped, and then closing them accordingly, rather than just deleting them, which had been the way they were dealt with before.

On the whole, the members affected by this, have been appreciative of the change, as said explanation seems to be preferred, instead of the old-style ‘out of the blue’ summary deletions, and many members have p-m’d on the subject, to confirm this (eg: say thank you).

After an on-going debate with my fellow members of the admin and mod team however, I am delighted to announce that as of next Monday, the one week ruling, will become a two week ruling instead, and on that day (April 4th), I will amend the standard post (as below) used where indiscretions occur, and amend the rules sticky (as linked to in the post below), accordingly.

Until then though (Monday 4th), the one week rule still applies . Atb: G.

Sorry, but this thread is now closed, as it has been bumped today, despite it being over seven days old, which contravenes the rules that have been in place since 2009 regarding this. Therefore, it is time to give this sale a rest for a week, then re-advertise it if still unsold (and if you so wish), in one weeks time, as per the BBS sales section rules.

In days gone by, offending adverts have just been deleted, but it is now felt that being locked with an explanatory post, as here, is a far better course of action (please see the following link and lifted quote, as pasted below, for reference).

Anyone who bumps an advertisement excessively will find that it disappears and they may lose access to the sales sections. Do not bump more than twice in 1 day, and no bumps are allowed after 7 days. If an item has not sold in 7 days the seller needs to consider options and may re-post the advert after a 7 day break. Note: Common sense is to be used, you don't need to post "pm replied to", the chap will get it in his inbox. Posting this is exactly the same as a bump!
