try pushing slightly on the front of the slide whilst pushing the lever down, takes some off the strain off the sear before you release it.
Any tips on how to ease this? The inch long lever that you twist in order for the breech to open, and gives you access for the mag...sometimes it's a bugger to operate.
Anything to grease, or a corner to file off?

Drop the slide off and take a turn off the slide opening spring, then there's less tension for the lever mechanism to overcome, trim half a turn at a time subsequently, if you cut it too short you'll end up having to stretch it
Then you can file the end of the spring neatly
