shiney or matt

Hi chaps, was just wondering if anyone could explain to me about the differance between the shiney finish on the colt 1911, and the 92 berretta made by umarex newer ones apparently are worth less ,why is this. Many Thanks Sproat,

The early guns had a laquer layer over a black base coating giving the appearance of a blued finish.
The later finish is more easily marked and any marks are harder to clean off.
