the ox is for putting on your garden gate and the titan is for putting in a air rifle
hi,
jus wanted to kno if you put these mainsprings in your air rifle do they not up the power to over the leagle limit as they are part of tune kits sold on other websites.
just interested as i have a gamo csi and was thinking of buying the tune kit that comes with
1 x titan spring
2 x seals-- i think there seals not sure though, 1 is red 1 is blue??
1x tub of molly
1 x tub of tar --whats the tar for??
thanks any help would be appreciated
I thought ox springs were square and titan round.
I know in direct comparison to the hw97 square spring the titan I put in my mates gun was a lot quieter and smoother with no vibe.
I think they put a low friction type coating on the titans, well this one had a coating anyway.
The farmers lad on a farm I shoot once put an ox spring in his gun, and it just made it very jumpy on firing not what I would call a tuned set up at all, probably why Ive always shot more than him on his own land.
I think the best thing to do is either buy a standard spring for your gun or a quality round one and like said the v mach type are top quality.
Titan XS springs are used in a lot of tune kits. OX springs go into many bins.

Nothing, both sh!te. POK! mainsprings FTW!
as stated above i have know purchesd the tune kit for the gamo csi .22
im not sure what the spring is all it says is....
You get these Items- One of each.
E3650 Mainspring
Apex Small piston seal
Gamo Tesla piston seal
Moly
Heavy Tar.--whats this for??
and can anyone tell me if this spring is any good? and will it be ok to put in a sub12?
thanks
From Jim Maccari @ airrifleheadquarters? You should get a UK spec spring by default IME, though not sure with this package. Heavy tar is spring lubricant.
ye thats the website i orderd from but i was jus abit worried as its all from the us and the laws are obviously diffarent there,
and thanks for the heads up about the tar, i thought thats what the molly was for but now i know.
thanks pp
Regarding the E3650 spring. It's a multi gun fit what it fits job, made by Jim Macarri.

Just put a Titan XS in a SMK TH208 yesterday.
Precut to size, plus tophat & x2 thinnest slip washers above & X2 thin power bands on the spring guide.
There is ZERO preload on the spring & this produces 11.41 fpe with 16 grain FX pellets.
Add about 5mm of preload to the spring & it produced 13 fpe (needless to say it's been set back to 11.4)
No need for a spring compressor.
This rifle actually makes legal power with ease because of a 28mm dia compression chamber, so the Titan has an easy time of it.
However, the difference between Titan & Ox is like the difference between a Rolls Royce & a 30 yr old Landrover. They'll both get you there but one will jar your fillings loose during the journey
