    The Joy of Darts

Not the late 70's Do group but those feathered things you used to shoot as a kid at an old dartboard out of your Gat or Webley Junior if you were posh.

Does anyone still shoot them, I found a few in a tin the other week but until a smoothbore pistol comes along its an old pleasure thats denied to me.

The received wisdom is that darts and steel BBs damage your rifling.
According to my Rfd thats nonsense because they are not travelling fast enough to do damage.

    Discuss please.

Personally I wouldn't shoot either out of a rifled barrel.

It may or may not damage the rifling but it doesn't seem right to me.

    Darts

I think I'd avoid in a rifled barrel so it gives me an excuse for buying a smoothbore air pistol.

I am hoping there will be a Record Model 1 for sale at Bisley this weekend!

Apart from my Umarex Makarov of course I dont have any smoothbores.

    Smoothbore

Ask around for an old Webley Junior they came with a smoothbore in the old days,

Be around 70 notes for a reasonable runner,

I shoot darts out of my two smoothbore Webley Juniors. Great fun having shooting competition with the grandkids.

I don't shoot darts in any airgun having a rifled barrel.
